Understanding TDS
Difficulty getting an erection? Rarely in the mood for sex? Often too tired? Thinking, “Yeah, that’s me”? You’re not alone.
Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome
If you’re rarely in the mood for sex, or feel too tired to try, your sleep is disturbed and you sometimes have difficulty getting an erection, you may have Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome (also known as hypogonadism)36.
Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome (TDS) basically means having a low testosterone level which is associated with clinical symptoms. TDS can affect men of any age, but is more common as men get older. It happens either when the testicles don’t produce enough testosterone, or when hormones are out of balance.
What’s so important about
testosterone? 36, 1, 9
Testosterone enables a man to have an erection and experience sexual desire (libido). It’s also important for your muscles, bones, mood and energy levels.
As a result, low testosterone can cause erectile dysfunction (ED), loss of libido and a general lack of energy, as well as depression, hair loss and potentially an increased risk of developing osteoporosis.
