How common is TDS?
Studies suggest that TDS is often under-diagnosed and under-treated in adult men, as symptoms can be easily attributed to aging or other medical causes. It is therefore difficult to determine prevalence accurately within the UK; estimates range between 1 in every 200 men 20 and 1 in 10 men over the age of 50 years old 51.
ED: Research suggests that up to 37% of men with ED may have TDS 18
Type 2 Diabetes: A UK study suggests that 51% of men with Type 2 diabetes have low testosterone levels (<12nmol/L) 27
Late onset TDS: The European Male Ageing Study (EMAS) suggests that the age-specific prevalence of late onset TDS varies from 0.7% in men aged 40–49 years old to 9.1% for men aged 70-79 3
