TDS, a common factor in ED patients

It has been shown that over a third of men with erectile dysfunction (ED) may also have TDS ¹⁷ and this could be higher in patients with both ED and Type 2 Diabetes ²⁶.

TDS is characterised by low levels of serum testosterone, in combination with a number of symptoms including erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, fatigue, poor ability to concentrate, depression and irritability ^{36, 1}.

Measurement of testosterone should be considered in all patients with ED, especially those who are less responsive or have failed to respond to treatment with a PDE5i ¹⁸.
