Obesity and ED
Obesity indirectly causes erectile dysfunction through a range of associated complications such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure) and cardiovascular disease.
As well as the physical effect these diseases have on your erections, some medications used to treat them (e.g. some drugs for hypertension) can also cause erectile dysfunction.
Obesity can be caused by a variety of factors. But there is one thing they all have in common: if you take in more energy than you use up, you will put on weight. There’s no magic answer to losing the weight: you need to use up more energy than you take in - by eating more healthily and increasing your level of exercise.
